Nice quality!
|Posted .This is the nicest mid-size freezer I have seen or owned. It arrived in perfect condition, looks great in the home, so far works perfectly. I am thankful to find something aesthetically pleasing. Also, I checked the kWh's and it uses very little electricity!

Great Freezer
|Posted .Owned for 7 months when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5Really like this freezer. It's been great for stocking up during the pandemic. I had to play around with the dial to find the right setting -- made it too cold at first, so a lot of things got freezer burned -- but once I figure out the right place for the dial, it's been perfect. It does ice a bit at the top from the air hitting it when you open it but just a thin layer that comes off easily.

Great Chest Freezer
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI read the reviews first and they were right. This fridge is quiet and keeps the food freezer like it is supposed to. I wish it had a light inside but this is a small freezer and fits great in the garage, not taking up too much room.

Perfect for use in the garage in a northern climat

Quality5 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5The GE Garage line of freezers built with special fluids to allow use down to -20F. My garage in MN rarely gets down to that temperature so this is great. Close to the kitchen and using extra space in the garage.

Good Small Basic Freezer
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThis freezer is fine for storing small quantities of food. It is probably half the size of my previous chest freezer, so I do find it a little small, but that is probably just my own experience. It is quite light, so don't lean on it before you fill it with food or you'll push it across the floor. The cord provided is also a little short, and I had to buy a heavy duty extension cord to reach the plug. There is also an open area, about 8" x 6" in the back of the freezer where the cord comes out. There are some holes above the open area that makes it appear that a small panel is missing. I checked with GE however, and they said there is no panel to cover this area; it is intended to be open. I don't like this open area because my freezer sits outside and leaves and dirt could blow in. Other than these issues, it seems fine. I would probably recommend this freezer even with the two issues I've mentioned (short cord and open panel in back).
Q: QuestionWhat are the precise, interior dimensions of this freezer? If there is a "step," how does that impact the cubic dimensions?
Asked by Philip.
- A:Answer Hi Philip- The interior dimensions are approximately 31.5"(W) x 15"(D) x 27.5"(H). Compressor area (hump): 7.5"(W) x 15"(D) x 9.5"(H). 7.0 Cu. Ft. is the usable space. There are many factors that contribute to the volume of food that your freezer will hold including the physical size and shape of each item. In general, a freezer will hold 30 to 35 pounds per cubic foot. The maximum amount of food that your freezer can freeze at one time is 3 pounds per cubic foot. After allowing 24 hours for that to freeze, you can then add another 3 pounds per cubic foot. We hope this is helpful! SUEatGEA

Q: QuestionI noticed a few comments on there being no interior light even though the add states there is one. What's the correct answer? This is a must for me and I'd hate to waste time returning the freezer.
Asked by Cher.
- A:Answer Hi Cher, Thank you for your interest in GE Appliances. We apologize for any confusion. FCM7SKWW does not feature an interior light. Models FCM11PHWW, FCM16DJWW and FCM22DJWW feature interior lighting. We hope this helps.

Q: QuestionIs this a frost free freezer or do I need to defrost it manually?
Asked by Gmaroni.
- A:Answer It is not frost free. I couldn't find a frost free chest freezer. GE manual, Page 5: "In most climates, defrosting will be necessary only about twice a year.To have your freezer operate most efficiently, do not permit more than 1/2" (13 mm) of frost to accumulate on the shelves." http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-60702-3.pdf

Q: QuestionIs it possible to buy extra baskets to better organize my frozen goods
Asked by Dawn.
- A:Answer The Container Store sells hanging baskets for chest freezers. You will want to double-check the dimensions you need first, but chest freezers tend to come in pretty standard widths.
