Hi Choosy - Thanks for considering GE! To obtain efficient operation, a freezer should be installed properly. Follow these guidelines for the best location for your freezer: 1. Place the freezer where the surrounding external temperatures will not exceed 110 degrees F. or fall below 0 degrees F. 2. Position the freezer in a dry, well ventilated room, including basement or garage. Do not install it in a closet. 3. Allow for a 3" air clearance on each side and rear of the freezer. Keep in touch!
