“When you say “This light connects DIRECTLY to 2.4 GHZ wi-fi”. This is not a stupid question for someone with my small amount of tech smarts. Does the word “DIRECTLY” mean that this light needs to be connected to the router via a cable of some sort ?”

Hello - Thank you for this excellent question! Cync Dynamic Effects Outdoor Light Strips 16 FT are only compatible with 2.4 Ghz wireless networks and not 5 Ghz wireless networks. The Light Strip does not require an ethernet cable and does not offer an ethernet port for a wired connection.
