Odors associated with new appliances are normal. The processes used during manufacturing often leave a "newness" odor that may not dissipate until after several wash cycles. This odor will dissipate with use. We encourage you to check the temperature of the water coming into your dishwasher. For optimum wash and dry performance, the water coming in must be a minimum of 120°F. Use a candy or meat thermometer and measure the hot water at the sink closest to the dishwasher. Adjust your water heater as needed. We also recommend choosing the Wash Temp Boost option. Adjusting the incoming water temperature and using the Wash Temp Boost option will help the wash performance and aid the dry performance by evaporating any excess moisture on the inside. -Vikki@GEAppliances
