Q: QuestionDoes this dishwasher have an automatic door opening feature to help dry dishes. If so, how do I turn it on.
Asked by JasonW.
- A:Answer No, this doesn't have an automatic door opening feature. However, if you open the door when the dishwasher is complete, the dishes and glasses will air dry naturally and save energy. While keeping in mind that adding the Dry Boost will only add 64 minutes to the cycle and cost pennies in energy to run. We also recommend turning your hot water on first to allow the first fill to be hot and use a rinse agent for the best results. Thank you! Joyce@GEAppliances

Q: QuestionWhy does my brand new GeProfile dishwasher have a smell to it & on normal cycle when I opened it up next day the inside was still wet and it had a Oder to it.
Asked by Fantastic.
- A:Answer Odors associated with new appliances are normal. The processes used during manufacturing often leave a "newness" odor that may not dissipate until after several wash cycles. This odor will dissipate with use. We encourage you to check the temperature of the water coming into your dishwasher. For optimum wash and dry performance, the water coming in must be a minimum of 120°F. Use a candy or meat thermometer and measure the hot water at the sink closest to the dishwasher. Adjust your water heater as needed. We also recommend choosing the Wash Temp Boost option. Adjusting the incoming water temperature and using the Wash Temp Boost option will help the wash performance and aid the dry performance by evaporating any excess moisture on the inside. -Vikki@GEAppliances

Q: QuestionTurning UltraFresh option ON increases estimated and actual time to complete any cycle. Normal goes from 1:58hr to a surprising 4:08hr, with all other add-on options set up exactly the same. What does it do to runtime cycle to increase time so much?
Asked by AuMR.
- A:Answer The UltraFresh option is a smart algorithm that works continuously to help reduce odors to ensure your dishwasher stays fresh and clean. Then enabled, the dishwasher door fan, water valve, and drain pump may operate at certain intervals prior to or following a cycle. Keep in mind that longer wash cycles will actually lower the energy consumption. It’s a little counter-intuitive, most people experiencing a long cycle will imagine the power meter spinning out of control. However, the truth is that it’s much more efficient to take less water from the water heater and run the dishwasher longer. The bottom line is that the price of high efficiency is longer wash cycles. We know you will notice the difference. Joyce@GEAppliances

Q: QuestionHow often does the “ultra fresh” fresh air fan run? Can it be heard? Can it be deactivated? What activates the fresh air fan? A sensor or just a time interval? Does it run without dishes in the washer?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer The Ultrafresh fan is controlled by sensors and runs based on an algorithm based on when moisture is detected between cycles. It may be able to be heard as a low hum, depending on your home’s setup. The fan can run with or without dishes in the dishwasher, regardless of if the door is open or closed. -- Pressing the ULTRAFRESH pad will activate the system and will illuminate the LED just above the ULTRAFRESH pad. The UltraFresh feature may be turned off at any time by pressing the ULTRAFRESH pad a second time. For more information, please see the Ultrafresh section on page 7 of the Owner’s Manual, which can be viewed at the bottom of the Features tab of the Best Buy product page.
