Hello! Android user here, but I don't think the phone type matters... You should first check to see if you can download the Smart HQ app. If you can, you should be good to go. And yep! The oven will function manually without being controlled via Wi-Fi. It has a very nice, large touch screen. The cool thing about the wi-fi is, let's say you get side tracked and forget you should've pre-heated your oven. If you're in another area of your home, not so close to your oven to manually turn it on, you can do so from wherever you are in your home, as long as you have your phone, a connection to the wi-fi, and access to the app. You will, of course, need to enable wi-fi on the oven itself when its installed. That way, you can use the wi-fi features and allow (automatic) updates to your oven. I hope that helps! The oven is amazing.
