I only let the washer fill automatically by itself. With the amount of water it has, it seems sufficient to wash the clothes properly.

The Department of Energy (DOE) sets standards for washer water usage. Over the years, the amount of allowable water usage has been reduced. With washers using less water and energy, you will no longer see a wash basket full of water. Most washers are now programmed with load sensing to adjust water levels based on the cycle and load size, so the amount of water used will vary. It is not recommended to manually add more water to the washer. Some models have a Deep Fill option which adds additional water to the wash load, regardless of whether you used a manual or a load-sensing fill. Hope this helps. Have a great day! Mike@GEA
