• This GE Profile PFD87ESPVRS model is approved for 0" minimum clearances to combustible surfaces on all sides and top, including the rear. However, for improved performance, a 1/2" clearance is suggested on each side. The rear of the dryer should face a wall. Consideration must be given to provide adequate clearance for installation and service.

• Yes, it is vented to the side. My husband bought an adaptor so the hose would reach the existing vent hole. I am not sure about the clearance space, but it is the same as my previous machine.
