QuestionIf a Samsung electric dryer is vented to side, how much clearance needs to be allowed between unit & back wall?

- Answer This GE Profile PFD87ESPVRS model is approved for 0" minimum clearances to combustible surfaces on all sides and top, including the rear. However, for improved performance, a 1/2" clearance is suggested on each side. The rear of the dryer should face a wall. Consideration must be given to provide adequate clearance for installation and service.

- Answer This model can be exhausted to the right of the cabinet, to the left of the cabinet, to the bottom of the cabinet, and standard rear exhaust. For full details, see the “Exhausting the Dryer” section starting on page 25 of the Owner’s Manual, which can be viewed at the bottom of the Features tab of the Best Buy product page.

- Answer When setting up your cycle, you will want to make sure that the "Reduce Static" and "Steam Sanitize" is not selected. You can find more information on pages 7 and 8 inside the user manual located in the "Features" section on the Best Buy product page.

QuestionCan this dryer be used without the steam? I don’t even want to attach it to the water line. The other dryer I’m looking at is back ordered and the salesman said I should just go with this one and not use the steam. Thanks for your help!

- Answer Yes, there are three cycles that use steam. You can opt not to select them.

- Answer The power cord is not included with this dryer. Most electric dryer power cords are sold separately to ensure that they comply with all state and local wiring codes. These codes can vary significantly from state to state, and even, city to city. We recommend you review the chart in the section titled: "Power Cords" on pg. 22 of the Owner's Manual for the list of compatible power cord for this model.
