It can be configured to vent to the bottom, to the left side or to the right side. You will need to purchase an Adapter Kit, Part # 383EEL9001B that has the necessary duct components to change the dryer vent location...^IFV
A: The first answer given wasn't really an answer at all. The question is good because alminnum is a known toxin. The finish on an aluminized alloy drum dryer is described as durable. One motivation for manufactures is that this is a less costly way to manufacture a dryer drum. I can answer this by stating I have not heard of tiny pieces (dust) of aluminum going into clothes or into the atmosphere.

Good dryer
I bought this LG dryer to replace one that I had for 14 years. It did need to be repaired a few times, but there's a point where you can't fix it anymore because the parts are not available. When I went out looking for my replacement dryer, I noticed that the top surface on the conventional looking dryers were sloped. Where would all of my laundry baskets and detergents go? They would slide off. Who decided to make the tops like that?! My old dryer was kind of like this one with the ability to stack, and has a flat top surface. The control buttons are on the front of the machine, which is actually really convenient. I decided to go with this stackable type of machine because it's a lot more convenient with the controls on the front. I can't stack this in my laundry room, there's no room for that. This dryer does not have the steam function, which is fine. My old dryer had it, but I really never used it. We had to remove that braided hose from the water line, but that's okay. This dryer does not have a light in the drum, which is fine with me. I guess if this was stacked, it would be the machine on top, as dryers are lighter than washing machines, so you could see into it better and don't need a light. This machine comes with the hinge on the right side. I don't know how machines always seem to come with the hinge on the wrong side for my laundry room, but they do. It was fairly simple to change, my husband did it. I was told by Best Buy customer service that it was a "service call", but I didn't want to wait for that. My laundry room is quite tight, and I didn't want to have to deal with the hinge on the wrong side for any amount of time, after being without a dryer for 10 days at this point. The dryer works great so far. It was fairly easy to figure out how to use it. The instruction manual didn't really do a great job of it, but I worked my way through it. I've never owned an LG washing machine or dryer before, so I'm hoping for the best. I had Best Buy deliver and install this dryer to me. The process was very easy and quick. The two delivery guys were great. I got texts letting me know they were on their way, and they also called.

Nice dryer to own.
I bought this dryer with it’s matching washer and they’re both fantastic. My previous washer and dryer were whirlpool, I have never bought a LG products before so I wasn’t sure What to expect. I decided to buy new washer and dryer because I renovated my entire laundry room and needed new appliances that would compliment the room, but priced reasonably - this dryer does both. In terms of style, this dryer is white, and I typically wouldn’t buy white appliances, but this dryer looks amazing in white. It has a very high end look, it fits perfect in a space, and it’s so deep that you can fit 2 blanks in it. I love that it has a timer on it - so there’s no guessing as to how long your clothes takes to dry. It runs quite and your clothes will come out wrinkle free and smelling fresh. I would recommend it as a good buy.

Excellent Dryer Machine
Love it! Easy for use big drum and very quiet machine, it dries fast too depends the quantity and the cycle you use. You hace 3 different ways to setup the vent like back or any of two sides it takes a little work and will need some extra pieces but I don’t know if this will affect the warranty
