“Can this dryer be used without the steam? I don’t even want to attach it to the water line. The other dryer I’m looking at is back ordered and the salesman said I should just go with this one and not use the steam. Thanks for your help!”

Yes, there are three cycles that use steam. You can opt not to select them.
