“How tall is saddle or bridge portion of the unit? In other words, how far would a typical window stick up because of it? I’m trying to determine how many jalousies I need to remove for this as well as spacers so unit doesn’t sit on the ground.”

The minimum height from the window sill to the floor is 10" per the Installation Instructions. So, as long as your window meets that height requirement, the unit won't sit on the ground.
