Customers praise the ClearView 350 window air conditioner for its quiet operation and effective cooling performance. Many found installation easier than anticipated and appreciated the unit's compact design. However, some customers noted the air conditioner's significant weight as a drawback, and others experienced challenges with Wi-Fi connectivity.

Unit was very silent in the beginning but you have to be careful every time you install it again assuming you remove it for the winter, as you may get a position that may make it louder, I suppose it's the rattling outside, someone suggested putting rubber pads in between the screws that touch the outside wall to minimize rattling. But it's pretty powerful and always made my room very cold very quickly since I don't have a huge room, only 160 sqft. It has a drain on the inside but I only ever had to drain it on my third summer of usage, before that I didn't even know what that was about, I just opened it and catch the water with a bowl, and cleaning the filters the machine will warn you about every couple weeks maybe 3 to 4 weeks if you don't use it a lot. App is pretty nice and easy but if you find that a little difficult you can use through Alexa.

This AC works great. Was a bear to put in by myself but the design is awesome. The window closes down to about 8 inches allowing more light into the room. Wifi setup was too confusing and I'm an electronics guy. I had to call the GE hotline to get it set up right but now it works great. Can set it from a smart phone or tablet with their smart app. The display is very dim and its hard to see when the sun is on that sid of the house. The remote is terrible...it is white with silver letters on the buttons. They are hard to read in any type of light. Overall, this is a great unit. Very expensive but well worth it if you are looking for a very quiet, hard working air conditioner. We have it in a 375 sq. Ft. room and it keeps it very comfortable even in quiet mode which is almost as quiet as just the air flow in a central air conditioned home.

So far ,we are very Pleased with the functioning of this unique low profile ac by ge . The 8300 cools a large room that probably a little bigger than recommended and its very quiet . The instllation not too difficult ,we managed it with 2 people .. it took a little longer than expected because im very careful. My son would of done it much quicker by himsrlf and he lifted it by himself
The price was fanstastic as we purchased it on sale .at best buy ..
We love the large view and we have used a small screen on cooler days that we can take out if wether gets wzrm . Pic with dcreen in . We far a very good purchase

Pros: Produces adequate cold air enough to easily cool down a bedroom all while remaining super quiet, even when the fan is on high. I'm amazed at just how quiet this unit is and after living with a traditional portable air conditioner the difference is night and day.
Cons: The user interface leaves much to be desired. Why on earth did GE decide to light up the little bar or dot adjacent to the label of the setting you want to change, instead of (or in addition to) lighting up the feature you are trying to adjust. This means that at night when you fumble around trying to find one of the black capacitive buttons to wake the unit display up, you are shown nothing but a bunch of dots and dashes. Granted the temperature is shown but the + or - buttons to adjust it are black so it's just random that you find the right spot on the panel to change what you want to change and odds are you will end up pressing the wrong setting anyway.
So forgot about the on-unit interface for controlling your unit (especially at night, it's pretty much useless) instead grab your smart phone, install GE's mobile app and you'll have access to all the unit's settings and features plus you can control the unit from anywhere in the world. So when you leave work in the afternoon, open the app and turn on the unit so that your bedroom is nice and cool when you get home. The app gives you options for setting a runtime schedule, adjusting the temperature, fan speed and mode of operation (fairly standard among units at this price point) but as a bonus, GE has even included an energy usage report. Speaking of power consumption, the good news is this unit so far appears to sip power at a pretty reasonable rate.
Bottom Line: Putting the motor outside makes a world of difference controlling the level of noise you have to put up with compared to most portable air conditioners. Having the unit sit at and below the window is brilliant, makes you wonder why nobody thought of this sooner. I've been more than pleased with this unit so far, even given the ridiculous control interface on the face of the unit, that's just dumb engineering at it's finest. That's a small gripe which is far outweighed by the long list of positives. But it was enough that I felt it necessary to take a way a star, if they get that interface worked out, I'd easily give tis unit five stars.

Definitely look at the measurements first before buying. I had to take off the back screws in order for my AC to fit my window put all in all it’s perfect and cools up my studio apartment pretty fast. I love that it’s bracket free.

It runs rairly quiet but started making a fan noise because of water collecting into the bottom of the unit and the fan splashing up the water , so i rerouted the drain tube to the outside of the unit to keep water out of the bottom when draining. I bought a different kit filler in addition to the one that came with it because it didnt work to fill the gaps after the unit was set in the window. It helps to have a second person to help set it into place. Over all it sems to cool well for a bedroom it is in and it doesnt take up a lot of window view. The down side is that you cant use your current window screen so i built a custom framed screen to go around the unit so if we do want to open our window to get fresh air on cooler days

Very quiet as advertised and looks beautiful, streamlined and allows natural light through the windows. Very easy to install as I did it myself with only help to lift up over the windowsill. I have recommended to others and purchased 2 more units to cover all my bedrooms.

We installed this air conditioner last week. It does really take two people to make sure it is carefully lifted into place, as well as perfectly level. We had to modify a little to accommodate an older storm window frame.
Wow! This unit works rapidly and super super quietly in my home office. There is no audible "Zoom Meeting" buzz. Remote works beautifully. Highly, highly recommended, and so much better than my other "roll-around unit.

Design looked good to free up 75% of my window unlike traditional ac. Ordered in time to arrive for a heatwave. Opened box and saw oil on inside of box adjacent to a dent. Ac is a sealed unit so it appears the coils that carry the oil and refrigerant through the unit were damaged by the dent and leaked. Didnt bother taking it out of the box. Couldnt exchange because no stock in store. Asked if store could order one so i could exchange when it came in, they said I’d have to go there with the damaged one first before they could order one then I could come back again and pick it up once it came in since I didn’t want it shipped to home again. Store is almost an hour in one direction… no thanks not making 2 trips. Option 2: was to spend another $400+ (price higher now than last week) to immediately ship one to store then when it arrives go there to return and/or exchange one or the other tying up over $800 in the interim. Or option 3: wait for store to get stock on their own (potentially some time next week well after the heatwave) and exchange it. Sigh. Too expensive to be having this hassle immediately from inadequate packing materials in the box. Currently waiting for store to restock on their own to exchange but likely will just return and cut my loses. First time in my life I’ve ever been disappointed by an air conditioner.

I was hoping this was going to be an easy install, but my ancient house doesn't allow anything to be easy. Not the unit's fault though- just be prepared. It works well and is definitely quiet on the quiet setting. I wish the dry mode worked better, but overall a good unit and met the specific needs I had. Just a bit pricy.

This worked perfectly in my bedroom. I love that it doesn’t block the window. The app that comes with it doesn’t do a whole lot, but it does tell you when you need to clean out the filters which is nice. I definitely recommend two people installing it as it is a bit heavy.

We're glad to hear your new air conditioner is working great and we'd like to provide some additional information about the SmartHQ app. The SmartHQ app allows you to monitor and control your air conditioner mode and fan settings. There's also other added benefits as well so we recommend you that you review the article titled: "Air Conditioner - Benefits of the SmartHQ App" on our GE Appliances website.

CAN'T BE INSTALLED ON 2 STORY w/o 2nd person on LADDER! Exterior is 2x+ more than heavy than inside. Std 30" window. So heavy, almost pulled Me&AC out window! RETURN ONLY CHOICE. Yoga mat & umbrella anchor was "oh crap!" fix to keep from falling. Unit is slick as should be so can't strap hvy side. Has ridge's underneath so can't pull/slide back in. Worried fins would get damaged. Had to flip it on its side & heave. SHOULD BE EMPHASIZED BY GE! Can't rate unit itself. Limited to 50 character in review. This fact barely mentioned by YouTube installers.
