“Why would you want water to collect onto the outside unit for the fan to do whatever it is you say for efficiency purpose? Doesn't that just now start a mold problem?”

It is normal for water to collect on the inside of your air conditioner. Both the inside and outside of the unit will need to be drained. If you'd like, you can view more on this on page 8 of the Use and Care manual under the Features tab on the product page. Regular cleaning and draining will keep your unit mold free and working as efficiently as possible! -Kacie@GEAppliances
