I just recently had this issue with "mush" ice. it turns out all it needed was a REALLY GOOD descaling from using hard water. It had started making this weird squealing noise and making the half melted ice. Once i read thru the manual and found out to properly descale it, i did. Except instead of letting it sit for 18 hours after running a cleaning cycle, i let it sit for 2 days, and the amount of scale that came out was gross. So, in my opinion, try that and see if it helps.
