yes our door would not close properly also

That's certainly not the experience we want for you, and know that must be an inconvenience. You may want to make sure nothing in the rack is blocking the door from fully closing, and if you have an adjustable upper rack, make sure it is level on both sides; if it's not the door will not close fully. Checking that the hinges are properly aligned may also help.
