No, the add-on switch is designed to be used in conjunction with a smart switch when you have a two or three way switch configuration and cannot be used alone.

As an alternate resource, you can contact Alarm.com support to inquire about Z-Wave sensor compatibility if they have a list of certified devices and what functionality they allow when connected. Since the hubs/controllers handle their own integration and functionality, they will often have a list of certified or recommended products that will work on their system.
