“I will likely have this plugged in, if I lose power will the camera automatically switch over to battery for continued recording? Seen others that have to be toggled and not used as a backup.”

Hey there, MrMAC! Thanks for your interest! You can plug your camera to a power outlet with the included power adapter for continuous power. However, the included power adapter is not weatherproof and not intended for outdoor use. We suggest using a compatible weatherproof cable (sold separately). Contact your retailer for inquiries. Also, the Nest Cam (battery) has a local storage fallback that allows it to record videos for up to one hour without Wi-Fi.
