I installed one of mine above the door and I the wire is so thin, you can discreetly run it on the bottom of you door which is hardly noticeable and doesn’t crimp the cord either. I own three of them and you can also discreetly run it through a window which my hom has new energy efficient windows and the wire allows the window to close and lock, also it doesn’t cause any issues with my alarm system sensors. 

The package comes with professional mounting wire holders which screw in. Also, the wire can be painted to match your home. I highly suggest this camera and brand. Nest cameras are amazing products and the brand is super excellent and impressive!
