Too many unknowns to even answer your question. The detail of a fast moving car from any distance, and especially at night, would be difficult for most cams. Don't get me wrong, this is a great cam with great detail, but you'd likely need to look at a top of the line professional system.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Let's face it, headlight glare is a problem for any camera, and motion too when the object is going at a good clip. SO chances are you won't get the plate unless the camera is quite close to the object being recorded. Let's just say the NEST cam removes the mystery as far as time the event happened, but if you expect a nice clear pic of the plate....probably not. I am very satisifed with camera.....during the day you might have better quality, but night time....is dynamic.
