Does this unit stay lit up all the time or does it go dark if not in use then lights up when touched? null

there is a setting for the light. you have it go off and then either turn on when someone walks buy or if someone touches.

Hi!

I have Nest thermostat. Unit lights (or display) will be "off" until you walk in front of the device "as it detects movement" and/or if you touch it. I have it at home and so far it has only light up on those two occasions.

It has a motion sensor and should only light up when touched or when it senses motion around it.

The unit does not stay lit up all the time. It blacks out until it senses motion and then it lights up. If the unit does not sense anyone in the home it will place your A/C in the away mode, meaning it will not keep your home cooled to your temperature established during setup. I have mine set to keep my home cooked to 72 while I'm home and while I'm away to 79.

The thermostat lights up when there is motion or when you touch it. So if you walk past it and are close enough it will light up for you then goes off in a few seconds.

I have been extremely pleased, much more than I expected with the Nest products.

It has multiple modes. You can set it to turn the display on when touched or you can set it to sense motion in the room and turn the display on. I have the motion setting turned on and it lights up whenever someone moves in the room.

It lights up if it senses motion and turns off about 10 seconds later. This also helps when you are not home you can adjust the away setting so the device notices no movement and adjusts to the away settings automatically.

The unit does go dark when you are not touching it. This is a great feature as the Fitbit can track your sleep and you would want the face be lit up while you are trying to sleep. The fit bit does know when you are moving and how you are moving. If you pull it up to waist height and turn the face up it will briefly show you the clock face. If the motion is not that of picking your wrist up to read the time the clock face stays dark. It is definitely a "smart" watch.

It will dim when you're not around; but it does have a motion sensor so being 20 feet away and crossing its path will have it light up.
