• It won’t make your other ones not work but if you want all your thermostats to be controlled by Nest then yes.

• Most likely yes. If each thermostat controls a zone such as; separate heating units, baffles to control airflow, or in my case valves for water flow. If you have ac that runs on a separate one or two stats, then those could be likely combined with heater wires in the nest. In my case I have a 4 zone boiler heater with a single zone ac, so I use a nest 3.0 for main heating and ac control, with nest E for my 3 heating zones. Dont forget to check nest power requirements before you upgrade.
