It will, plus it will show outside temperature.

Yes, the target temp is the large number presented, but the dial will show the current temp on the outer dial. If you click on it, you can also see the outside temp, if you are connected to wi-fi. It will also give you a rough estimate of how long it will take to reach the desired temp, but I have not validated the accuracy of those estimates.
