If I want to use this to just monitor temperature in my home and adjust it accordingly WITHOUT the NEST thermostat will that work? So basically will these work as long as it is connected to a nest account or whatever. Without connecting to ahermost null

No, can't be used as a stand-alone device. Must be paired with a Nest Thermostat

The Nest Temperature Sensor is designed to connect with the Nest Learning Thermostat or the Nest Thermostat E so a Nest Thermostat would be needed in order to have this paired to a Nest account.

That won't work. The sensor sends information to a Nest thermostat via bluetooth and then from the thermostat to your app via wifi, rather than directly to a phone.

No, the remote thermostat connects via WiFi directly to a Nest thermostat. It can be connected and not used for control, but there must be a Nest thermostat in the house for it to connect to.

Yes, you can connect to Nest Thermostat and just set it to not adjust temperature for that room. You can also set for it to adjust temperature for that room only at certain times, which is how I have it for my bedroom only at night.
