“We purchased these to monitor the temperature while away for awhile. The lowest I’ve seen displayed is 44 degrees F. Then they just go blank on the app and are useless. Don’t believe their range goes to 32 degrees? All 3 stopped. Returned.”

Sounds to me like you bought them for the wrong reason. They are for indoor use and supplement your Nest thermostat. Sounds like you were putting them outside. Or you like it really, really cold in your house. If you let your house get much below 44, you are risking your pipes freezing.
