• No, this isn't meant for that. There's probably something else out there for what you're looking for. This sensor is for: at nighttime, I want my thermostat to control the temperature in my bedroom, not the living room.

• You can definitely use the Nest Temperature Sensor to only monitor the temperature of the room but you still need to connect it to a Nest Learning Thermostat to report the temperature data via Bluetooth.
