This will make your air conditioner work as hard as needed to cool the room it’s in. If your bedroom is running hot, then it will make it work harder. You can set a schedule for when your in the bedroom to help minimize the energy used though. We like ours

Please try again later.When first installed energy usage may increase but once the set temperature is reached, it should maintain the temperature set and not run as often as one might think. My temperature difference was approximately 5 degrees and after one or two days of use, my A/C did not seem to run any more than before using the Nest Sensor. Both locations now maintain the same temperature. I'm sure not everyone will have the same experience.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It will work harder initially. Once temperature is evens out, the AC should run consistently to the sensor. It may go up some. Not sure if a window unit would be any different cost wise.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You can schedule the thermostat to read from the sensor in your room at night only, and the thermostat during the day. The increase in run time should be less drastic this way
