The Nest Temperature Sensor can work up to 50 feet away from the Nest Thermostat. The range can vary depending on your home’s construction, wireless interference and other factors.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It should work for you application. I've got the main Nest downstairs and the remote sensor upstairs in our Master Bedroom.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is my situation and it works perfectly.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I put one in an upstairs bedroom that's about 30 feet away as a crow flies away from the Nest (with a wall and a staircase in between). So far it seems to works fine, where attempting a similar configuration for the Ecobee did not.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, this sensor will work in the setup that you described.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You are a smart person. I asked the same question too. My husband and our computer expert both insisted that it goes through floors when they say the measurements. I was skeptical but they were right. Two of my nest devices were for the main floor and the third was for a basement office. They all connected perfectly well. So it does count through the floors and walls. I hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Our thermostat is downstairs and sensor is upstairs and it works, easy set up in an old house with plaster walls.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My Nest sensor works perfectly... I have two of them. One at 35 feet away and the other at almost 50 feet. I have killer WiFi as well at 300 MPS.. Test it out ... should be fine and easy flawless set up!! Very happy!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi, I would not count on the 50ft, as it may be "unobstructed" 50ft. I have the same scenario. I have placed the sensor in upstairs bedroom and thermostat is in downstairs living room. The linear distance is around 20ft, with atleast 3 walls in between and it still works fine. I would suggest trying it out, the sensor does not need to be fixed to wall like the thermostat, it can merely be placed on any surface in the bedroom and then test it out. Good luck!
