It over rides the thermostat sensor. Your question all depends on the temperature delta between that room and rest of your house, If its dramatic you may want to consider something else as this will raise the temp in that room to your setting... it could cause rest of house to increase dramatically pending on your home construction etc.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If you use a temperature sensor in that room the Nest thermostat will regulate all rooms in that zone from the temperature you set for that room. So if that room is the hottest then the other rooms will be colder while that room is at the temperature that you set on the Nest. Remember it is like placing the Nest Thermostat directly in that room.
