• You have to setup Zones. If the person is outside of the zones it will not alert you. You can do this in settings.

• You might need to check the wake-up sensitivity. If the person walking by is too far it might not trigger a motion event. You can change the wake-up sensitivity in the settings under video. You may also want to check events to see what it turned on.
