The 3a line was originally released with Android 9 in May 2019. I bought mine in Feb. 2020 with Android 10 pre-installed. I believe you will receive OS updates through the last feature pack for Android 12. Security updates continue as necessary. Because of the delayed release, the Pixel 4a will most likely will arrive with Android 11 ready for 5G.
