As far as I know, keeping your present phone number is dependent on your phone carrier. You can always call you new carrier and specifically ask them if you can keep your present cell phone number. Each phone carrier network requires a specific Sim. If you use T-Mobile, AT&T, Sprint, (or any other carriers for example, they all require a SIM card specific to their networks..

If switching carriers, yes you can always keep your existing phone number...it gets ported over. It's amazing how many people don't understand this supposed deal. Before it changed to sold out, the site showed the details. People amaze me
