A:AnswerThe Pixel 4 has a more powerful processor (SD 855 vs SD730G) but less RAM (4 GB vs 6 GB) so apps will load slightly faster and run more smoothly on the Pixel 4, but may not keep the same number of apps in memory (apps are more likely to reload when multitasking). Pixel 4 has a higher refresh display at up to 90hz vs 60hz on the Pixel 4a (scrolling will appear more fluid on the 4). The 4 also has wireless charging, water and dust resistance, Soli radar tech (helps with face unlock and gestures), and a telephoto lens at the back.
On the flip side, the 4a has a more modern design with a punch hole display that is also slightly larger (5.81" vs 5.7"), overall lighter footprint, a larger battery, an audio jack for wired audio, a larger storage when compared to Pixel 4 base model (128 GB vs 64 GB), comparable image quality, a fast and accurate fingerprint sensor at the back, and an extra year of software support, all while being significantly cheaper.
A:AnswerCompletely unreliable. I had to change my order to be picked up on the 25th so it wouldn’t be cancelled a month after I ordered it. And then they auto cancelled it anyways saying it was “out of stock”. Thanks. I’ve been waiting a month. I even have the accessories for it. And my current phone is fried. Shout out to Best Buy for failing me on that one.
A:AnswerIt will come with an 18-watt fast charging power adapter, a USB c to USB c cable (for charging or data transfer; 1 meter long; USB 2.0), a SIM ejection tool, a USB c to USB A adapter, and some papers (eg. Quick Start guide). There are no headphones or cases included in the box.
A:AnswerThe point is you save $50 since it is a pre-order. I just purchased one, and my current phone still works. Once you get the new phone, say August 24th, you transfer your data to the Pixel 4a and that then becomes your phone. So purchasing it now doesn't affect your current phone until you switch over.
A:AnswerFor about two weeks my order status said ready for picking 8/20/20 (today). I logged in this morning to print the order out and it now says 8/24/20. I chatted with someone from Best Buy and they said they have no inventory anywhere. I'm hoping 8/24 it will actually be available. I think it is shady to switch dates like that, on the day I was supposed to pick it up. Even worse, they offer $24+ next day shipping option right now on their website. I guarantee you won't get it tomorrow, and be out your shipping costs.
A:AnswerYes, I have Verizon and it works perfectly. I selected the unlocked version because it will work with any of the carriers (should I ever decide to switch) AND it is not loaded with all the bloatware the locked Verizon version would come with.
A:AnswerI purchased this phone 2 weeks ago. Keep same sim card, but still will need to take it into a Verizon store (only if you purchased at a place other than Verizon) to switch your service to new phone.
A:AnswerHi MartyParty,
This is the unlocked US SKU and therefore compatible with many carriers (Google Fi, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, US Cellular, AT&T, Visible, Xfinity Mobile and C Spire). If you are using another carrier, we recommend contacting them directly for the most accurate information regarding device compatibility. A:AnswerYes, AT&T is only deprecating their legacy 3G network. Older 3G devices, and older 4G devices that don't support VoLTE will not work properly at that time.
The 4a has VoLTE compatibility.
A:AnswerNo FM radio included in the Pixel 4a, but you can use TuneIn or any other radio station streaming app.
Of course, this uses wifi or cellular data to function.
A:AnswerThe 4a supports dual SIMs. One must be a physical SIM and the second must be an eSIM. In the dual SIM arrangement, the eSIM will be SIM #2. Hope this helps.
A:Answer"Activate now" means you have to choose a carrier to activate it with. When you select that option the various carriers will be made available. Note that if you choose to elect "Activate Now" and for example select Verizon to activate it with; they will 'lock' the phone to that carrier. If you intend to switch out sims later down the road or want that optionality I would just activate later. "Activate Later" means you can use any sim with any carrier to operate the phone.
