• Pixel 4a isn't shipping or available for pickup until Aug 24. So choosing to "activate now" does nothing to your existing phone.

• You can use your current phone until you activate your new phone, but you can't "activate now" unless the phone is in stock at your local Best Buy. Catch 22. That's the only way you can get the "activate now" price.

• You can only "activate today" if you buy it at a Best Buy store, and many of the desired phones are not in stock in the Best Busy stores when they're on sale. Granted, you can usually have it shipped to your home or the store pretty quickly, but you won't get the "activate today" price. Somewhat of a Catch 22, isn't it? Still, you sometimes get lucky. You'll notice that Amazon doesn't make any such offers.
