Yes! Each has two Ethernet ports at each pod on the bottom to hook into. The only one that will not have two is the one hooked to your modem, it will only have one usable Ethernet port for a device to hook into since the other is receiving a signal from the modem. I've got a similar set up and this works great.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have a 3,000sq ft home with the TV far from the main wireless router/modem. I use the wifi connection with my TV and it works great. The Google wifi local bandwidth far exceeds my ATT internet connection speed (30Mbps). The Google wifi system sets up a mesh wireless mesh network using the AC1200 standard. I don't think you will get any better connection to your TV using the ethernet port on the pod because the back-haul connection to your service modem will still be wireless AC1200. Using the Google wifi app, you can prioritize any device on your network for a specified amount of time, so you could prioritize your TV while you were watching it and you would likely get the best throughput possible on your wifi connection.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Just an update. I did this and it works perfectly! I had to get the Roku Premier + which has an ethernet port and plugged it right into pod 3. We now consistently get at or above the internet speed at which our internet service is rated (60 Mbps) and there are no "dead spots" in our house. Before I installed google wifi, we were lucky to get 30 Mbps in the room furthest from the router. We love it!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Each device has 2 Ethernet ports. You can use 1 to hardwire connect to the main device if too far for the mesh relay. You can then hardwire the TV or other device using the 2nd Ethernet port. That is how I have mine setup and it works great.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is exactly how I do it, but I put an 8 port switch at the TV channel or my Roku box and DVD player. The signal never locks up or anything.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. That should do the trick. The system creates a mesh network, which works just as you explained.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, that is the benefit of a system like this. I have my modem connected to a switch so I can hardwire certain things. The first WiFi point is plugged into it along with a second one by my TV. The third is upstairs without ethernet connection.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Absolutely, Google will actually help you with the placement. I have a fairly similar set up. I stream 4k HDR from Netflix no problem vs problems before using a nighthawk Ac Router and an extender.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, this is exactly what the system is basically for. As far as plugging I'm Ethernet to the TV, if you get a good wifi signal with the Google wifi after install them it probably isn't needed.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.all pods need to connect to the main one. We wanted to do the same thing and found it did not work that way.
