- Answer You still need to buy high speed internet from the local ISP of your choice so the monthly fee I believe you are asking about is the fee for internet access and that is paid to whatever internet service provider you are already using. This device is simply a new wireless router made by Google that you use with your existing modem and existing internet service (Google or otherwise) to spread your wifi signal evenly throughout your house. They are not selling the actual internet SERVICE from Google here- you can use this with the internet service you already have or if Google internet service is available in your area, you could of course choose to use this with Google internet service (although you'd have to pay the purchase price of this router plus the monthly fee for whatever Google (or other brand) internet service plan you choose. I think this is what you were asking about regarding a monthly fee as it seems that likely due to the name of this device, a number of people seem to think that this device also includes internet service when in fact it is a new router to use with your existing internet service or the internet service you order separately. - Answer Yes, you can place each unit in separate houses. Basically, each hub can operate independently of one another, so essentially when you purchase this system you are purchasing three identical routers. So depending on your situation you will need to configure the system differently. ~If the two buildings are beyond the reach of the wifi signal you will need to connect each unit to its own broadband modem or link them via an ethernet cable, which may not be practical. ~If the buildings are close enough for the WiFI signal to reach, then you can configure the system as normal. ~If you plan on purchasing two units for your home and then give one to a friend, then each of you will set up your respective units independently. QuestionDoes this replace my comcast router? How does the cord from TV connect to it? Also will Nest and Wemo connect with it?

- Answer This can replace your router, but it is NOT a modem. If you rent a modem from Comcast, you'd need to either keep that and plug this into the ethernet port on the bottom of the Google WiFi, or purchase yourself a new Modem and return yours to Comcast. If you have one of Comcast's Gateways (Modem/router combined (sounds like you may)) then you can keep that as well (and may need to if you use their phone service), again, just plug this into one of the 4 ethernet ports on the back of your Comcast Gateway. Their Gateway is required by them to get their TV/Phone/Internet service when you have a bundle. If you have the Gateway, you can also call Comcast tech support to disable the wireless portion of it if needed. Hope this helps.

QuestionIs this a wifi router or wifi extender? Also If I plug this into any of LAN port in my home do I need to setup this for WIFI or it will automatically configure to use same WiFi Router configurations?

- Answer It's a wireless router. One is plugged into your ISP modem, and the others act as wireless bridges that extends your wireless coverage. They all talk together in a Mesh network. So far my system has been solid with awesome coverage and speed. nice features with parental control too. Combines 2.4ghz and 5ghz to a single SSID which is nice.

QuestionIn some rooms in my house the WiFi signal is VERY weak and in some cases its not available. If I use an extender, it creates another WiFi ID which is different from the main one assigned to the router. Does this device creates another WiFi ID?

- Answer No. The system is supposed to switch you automatically between different wifi devices, but all of them will be under one ID. You will have one ID for your network, regardless of how many of these devices you have.

QuestionI have Ethernet run throughout my house. The question is if I can run each of these off their own Ethernet connection, rather than relying on one hub to provide connection wirelessly to the other hubs? But still one mesh wireless network.

- Answer Short answer yes. Especially could be useful if your wired ethernet is gigabit and if you have a segment of your house that is walled off with wifi blocking materials. Here is the response from google technical support: Thank you for contacting Google Wifi Care. My name is Brian and I will be happy to help you out with this! You can connect Google Wifi points via Ethernet if you want. In most use cases it probably doesn't matter whether they are wired or wireless. There certainly wouldn't be a disadvantage to use wired over wireless (unless it means not locating the access point in the best location). Whether there is an actual advantage depends on what the connected devices are, what they're doing and the speed of the Internet itself. If you have the Ethernet cables available in the ideal location for a wireless access point, you should use them. If not, then you shouldn't. It is accurate that to setup multiple Google Wifi points you start off wirelessly. Then move them to their desired locations and connect by Ethernet. They'll then use the best connection available. - Answer Yes. I had a similar set up with an extender and this is hands down better. I get better signal everywhere and my house is over 5K sq ft and 3 floors.

QuestionMy home is 2600 sf and my gateway is in the master BR, but my office is at the opposite corner of the house with walls and stairs between. I get 300mbps in the BR, but barely 10mbps in the office. Tried range extenders, no luck. Will this really help?

- Answer Original network is now only a wired network the router on the modem should be disabled leaving Google WiFi as your router. You can use the ethernet on the modem you have two networks wired(original/modem) and wireless(Google Wifi).

- Answer These will not speed up the internet service to your home/business coming from Verizon, rather what they do is connect to the DSL modem and then provide a broader wifi signial throughout your home/business so you can roam further from your current wifi router and still have a good wifi internet connection. Also, if multiple devices are connected at once like streaming Netflix, surfing the web and on a smartphone connected to wifi the Google WiFi helps to optomize all the signals to keep each device getting as much speed as possible. You can also prioritize so the streaming Netflix device gets priority so your movie doesn't get glitchy due to your websurfing on a laptop or your smartphone usage of your wifi.

- Answer You'll want to connect one of the Google WiFi points to your Uverse router with the included network cable. Then, if possible, disable wifi on the Uverse router (if it has wireless and it's enabled). Google WiFi seems to work best when it's the main wifi for your house. I don't have wemo, but I do have Nest and SmartThings. Both connect perfectly, and I've seen quite a boost in speed/quality from my old wireless router. Very happy with it so far.

- Answer Your wifi internet speed is limited by the maximum speed you get from your internet provider. So as you mentioned since you have 20 mbps speed, your internet speed is capped at 20 mbps. Google routers' are capable of speeds up to 1.2 Gbps. If you share devices connected to this network, they will be able to "talk" to each other at higher speeds as long as the device supports it. e.g. file transfers from one computer on your wifi network to another connected to the same network.

- Answer According to google, the Google Wifi routers will work with the OnHub Routers. If you need better coverage in your home, you can purchase these to extend your coverage and they will all "talk" to each other. QuestionHave a 1600 f2 apt. and an old Apple Extreme router but have deadspots in the remote rooms. Have 10 devices to connect & stream at least 3-4 at a time. Question: Google wifi (3) or the stronger Google OnHub? Will Google wifi lose strength in bridging?

- Answer I live in a ranch with a full basement for a total of 2,400 sq ft. I installed the Google Wifi 3 pack with two in the basement and one upstairs. My entire house is covered very well now. Also, I can pick up a strong signal in my attached garage, in the front yard, and in the back yard. I could never do that before. I frequently have 13-18 devices connected to our wireless network with no performance problems. Now, I do have all three hotspots connected via an ethernet cable, so they don't have to transmit between each other. I have used three other brands (LinkSys, Netgear, and ASUS) and Google's product is far superior in every way that matters to me. Before connecting the second two devices through the hardwire cable, they were set up to work wirelessly. They worked fine, but with two teenagers that have multiple video streams going at the same time I decided to keep the hotspots wired. Did I say I am very happy with this product?

QuestionAtt is provider. They supplied, what they refer to as a “Gateway”. May I assume that the “Gateway”is a router and modem? My home is 1400 sq ft on one main floor and have a finished basement area of 650 sq ft. Using three “3” three tv’s. Can this work?

- Answer Absolutely. One Google WiFi unit is able to supply for up to 1300 sq ft. Assuming you have three, two upstairs and one in the basement, you will have more than enough coverage.

- Answer I pre-ordered from Best Buy before Thanksgiving with a delivery date of 12/6/16. Today (12/6/16) I got a notice that the item was back ordered, and delivery date was pushed out to 12/28/16. I promptly cancelled.

QuestionI have AT&T Uverse with an AT&T modem/router. I heard that mesh systems, in general, don’t work with AT&T modem/routers without going in & making a bunch of technical advanced (aka confusing) changes to the AT&T device... is that true with Google?

- Answer I have ATT Uverse and an ATT modem router and didn't have to change a thing. The Google mesh works by basically setting up a new network over your old one. It was really easy.
