This can replace your router, but it is NOT a modem. If you rent a modem from Comcast, you'd need to either keep that and plug this into the ethernet port on the bottom of the Google WiFi, or purchase yourself a new Modem and return yours to Comcast. If you have one of Comcast's Gateways (Modem/router combined (sounds like you may)) then you can keep that as well (and may need to if you use their phone service), again, just plug this into one of the 4 ethernet ports on the back of your Comcast Gateway. Their Gateway is required by them to get their TV/Phone/Internet service when you have a bundle. If you have the Gateway, you can also call Comcast tech support to disable the wireless portion of it if needed. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you have a comcast gateway (modem/router), you have to put your gateway in bridge mode and connect the google wifi to your comcast modem. I used the same network password/name i had so all my deviced connect to it without having to reconfigure. Yes, it works with nest and wemo
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Google Wifi replaces your current router. A cord from your TV does not connect to it. Your TV will connect to it wirelessly if your TV has Internet capability. Same goes for Nest, etc. They would connect wirelessly via Wi-Fi.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is a mesh network router so it will replace a router, but you will still need a modem. Each WIFI hub has one ethernet port on the back so you could connect one device (ie tv) to the back of a hub if you wanted. Not sure about nest, but I would assume it would connect via wifi. Google wifi is a mesh network where three hubs talk to each other and so you can get greater wifi coverage for your home.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it will replace your Comcast router if you wanted it to. As to the question about the cord you need to be more specific. What kind of cord is it and what is it connecting to? Yes you can connect to WeMo and Nest. It has dual bands which are 2 and 5 Ghz . I believe WeMo needs 2 Ghz band to work so it would work.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. This is a router and a WiFi mesh network. Each Google WiFi device has a wired Ethernet jack and a WAN port on it. If you place one of these by your TV that has a wired Ethernet connection, your TV will connect to the Ethernet port (not the WAN port) on the Google WiFi device. Yes, Nest connects via WiFi so it would connect to this like any other WiFi router or access point. Same thing with Wemo.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.it replaces your router. the only connections on it are for network cables. otherwise you'd have to connect your TV to it via wireless lan.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No it does not replace your comcast router. You connect one of the 3 of these devices to your comcast router using an ethernet cable. You should first turn the wireless off on your comcast router. Download the google wifi app on your phone and configure the first device (give it a wifi name and password). Plug in the additional google devices and use the phone app to add them to your google wifi network. I am pretty familiar with nest devices, if you have a thermostat you would need to go to that and change the wifi network to the new network and enter the new password. If it is a nest smoke detector you have to remove it from your nest account and then add again. I am not really sure how wemo works but if it works with your existing wifi it should work with this.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just added a $20 extender (NetGear N300) that cured my problem of losing my wifi connection in a far corner of our house. Installation was simple. It gives me 2 networks and I use the same password for each - the extender functions the like a wireless extension cord. Now my signal strength is "strong" from the extender vs "good" from the primary router (when the primary signal has not dropped out). On the other hand, that's all it does, and if we still had children in our house the parental management mentioned in the ad are very interesting.
