Original network is now only a wired network the router on the modem should be disabled leaving Google WiFi as your router. You can use the ethernet on the modem you have two networks wired(original/modem) and wireless(Google Wifi).

Your devices tend to connect first to the network with the best signal (which will likely be your Google grid) which is why is does that. The only reason to keep your old router is if you want to use it for advanced features - like VPN or file share - but I would turn off the wireless.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.you can disable your old network name/broadcast from the ISP issued device, or just extend your old network name. You don't need 2 networks unless you want to manage a guest network vs private network.
