The Google device does seem faster particularly since the signal is stronger due to the mesh network. Please make sure you can put your cable or DSL modem into bridge mode. This is the only way the mesh feature will work

I thought the Airport Extreme would be an improvement over our old Netgear unit (especially considering the cost) but it was only minimally better. We still had to reconnect our TV, for example, at least once a week. The advantage to this is that we are able to put wifi on each floor of our house and the system spreads the signal evenly. It is a MAJOR improvement. No more spotty wifi. Get it. :-)

I have always had dead spots in my kitchen and my living room on the first floor where my tv and multi media system is located. I tried everything. I decided to try this system and worked great for me. I bought the 3 unit pack. I have no dead spots and the coverage is equal throughout the entire house.
