Unfortunately, the stand width is not adjustable for the 55" model. The spec sheet on the Hisense website indicates the stand width is fixed at 39.5". Personally speaking, I find this very disappointing, because I have a TV stand that is barely 40" wide. If the stand width was adjustable (or narrower) I would buy this TV in a heartbeat.
