BIRD LOVER, MY HEAT GENIUS DOESN'T GIVE OFF A SMELL .....BUT I DEFINITELY WOULDN'T HAVE IT BLOWING DIRECTLY ON YOUR BIRD I DONT HAVE IT BLOWING DIRECTLY ON ME OR MY DOG......BY FOLLOWING THE DIRECTIONS AND LEARNING HOW TO WORK IT REALLY MAKES A DIFFERENCE. I didn't notice a smell. Birds may be attracted to it because of the noise and heat if gives off if the bird is not in a cage. I wouldn't keep caged birds too close to it.
