When running the lowest speed (germ mode), the noise level is pretty acceptable, I can watch TV with it running nearby. I recall seeing other reviewer had germ mode at 41dB, this maybe because they were measured differently (different distance, height........)

I am a light sleeper but can sleep with it in the same room at regular setting. It also is very light and can be easily carried room to room. I am very pleased with this unit and have recommended it to others.
