Its not notice until everything around you is quiet. No the sound is very light sleeping is a breeze.

You can adjust the noise level as it has four settings and each have a different sound. The lowest setting is germ, the middle setting is for general cleaning and the highest is for allergens. The loudest is the turbo setting. Since this model can filter about 450 sq. ft. and if your bedroom is smaller than that, you can place the unit as far away as you can from where you sleep.
