Hello Ronald, The Hoover ONEPWR Cordless Hand Vac and battery can be left on the charger without the battery having a shortened life. We recommend keeping the battery on the charger when not using vacuum to ensure that your unit will always be fully charged and ready for use whenever you need it! Thank you. Matt - Hoover Team
