Thank you for your questions! This Chromebook has a battery life of up to 13 hours and 30 minutes. Your battery life will vary based on factors such as screen brightness and resource utilization. Yes, all computers will warm up and then vent out the warmth as needed. The more system resources you engage, the more it may warm up. This system in particular is designed for light personal use rather than heavy multitasking or gaming. If you have any technical issues, please reach out to the HP Support team at https://support.hp.com/us-en.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't know anything about the reported battery life, but I would say that it does get noticeably warm when watching videos or playing games. It does concern me for the long-term operation that I hear no fans or see vents. I assume they tested it for that heat load, but I try to minimize the multi-tasking while videos are playing.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I bought this chromebook new from Best Buy 11 months ago. Within six months the battery began to fail. It showed 1/2 to 3/4 charge left, but the device would suddenly crash due to battery had no charge left. I never got more than 3 hours of use per the battery. After the battery crashes, it only takes 5 minutes for it to show that it is already fully charged up. It should take longer than that to fully charge a dead battery, therefore the charging system is erroneous. I wish I had never wasted my money on this HP brand.
