Hello, yes this device does have a Write Protect screw however it is not recommended to access the device unless you are a certified HP computer technician. Write protection is a mechanism used for protecting vital data and files from being deleted, formatted, and removed on storage devices. Once your storage device is with a write-protected state, you cannot access nor open the device.Thank you for being an HP customer!
