S mode is a special high security mode for running Windows 10 (and Windows 11). The main thing that you'd notice is that in S mode, the computer can only download and run apps that are available in the Windows store.

You can run 3rd party portable apps from a compatible USB formatted in fat32, exfat, and ntfs. You must update the USB driver to recognize it as disk drive
