Windows S mode is a limited version of Windows. You shouldn't lose any data or program access by exiting S mode.

What S mode does is to limit you to downloading and installing software that has been checked by Microsoft and it available in the Windows Store. If you turn it off, you lose that protection, but if you need to turn it to install your embroidery software, you're going to be fine.
