Yes, right click on Start, select Control Panel, then select Mouse. Once in there you will see the disable option. There is no light.

Please try again later.If you are speaking of the pad that moves your cursor on screen with just a simple use of your finger, sorry it does not seem you are able to shut it off and there is definitely no light anywhere on here to show you verification. You are able to activate/deactivate the touch keyboard on the screen and it will give you an indication on the lower right corner of your screen. You may want to inquire about your question at HP.com, from Geek Squad, or a Best Buy associate just to be sure I am right or not. Good luck.
