minecraft =sure. higher end games=not so much------ look for something with dedicated graphics and more memory or expect to pay for upgrages-- also consider ssd instead of hdd
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is much more machine than an 8 year old needs to play Minecraft. I think you could find a computer that is more suited for him - this is a big laptop. I would recommend one of HP's 15 inch size screen laptops, at about half the price as this one. Besides, it would be good for him to spend some time outdoors and play with other boys and girls his age instead of inside spending too much time on Minecraft, but hey, he is your grandson.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It will run minecraft well enough to play but I would recommend going with a laptop that has a dedicated graphics card, doesn't have to be the best graphics card just something better than the Intel graphics card that this one comes with.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It depends on the game, of course, but the memory is not enough for many games and you can't expand it. This is just a good enough laptop. I have a tower for games to get the speed for online play and the needed cooling and graphics. It does solitaire fine!
